Joyce Bingeham
Joyce is an artist/mother based in Lincoln, Nebraska. Her latest body of fabric work stems from a love of abstraction, focusing on color and composition, both of which are inherent in her quilted constructions. She has her MFA in Art with an emphasis in printmaking from UNL. You may have seen her in 2016-19 live printing goofy Abe t-shirts as The Squeegee Bee at the Haymarket Farmers Market or as a screen printing instructor at Mākit Tākit. Currently, she’s looking forward to her next quilting project, #SponsorTheStash, where she will be making and selling quilts with a portion of each sale going towards funding premium quality fabric and racial reconciliation. You can find more of what she is making in her home studio on instagram @JoyceBingeman and on the web at www.joyce-bingeman.com.

“I’m always striving to bridge the gap between what people consider “fine art” and “doodles”. I work on minimizing my marks while still conveying the subject matter, and focusing on simple shape and color. I love the harsh black outline of the traditional comic strip, and that motif can be found throughout my works.”
